Beyond the Boroughs
Our first outing outside the city
Saturday, May 30th
We've played every corner of New York City. Now it's time to head north.
This spring, Five Boroughs is packing up for its first-ever destination outing to the Hudson Valley, where a 100-year-old course has been brought back to life by one of golf's best storytellers. Great golf, food, and fresh air.
Liberty, NY
Sullivan County Golf Club is a gem in Liberty, NY — purchased, renovated, and reimagined by Tom Coyne and a group of partners that includes Bill Murray and Jason Kelce. Their vision was simple: make golf affordable, accessible, and free of pretension.
It's an ode to the kind of local course that used to exist everywhere, and almost doesn't anymore.

Tom Coyne is a New York Times bestselling author whose golf travel trilogy — A Course Called Ireland, A Course Called Scotland, and A Course Called America — established him as the sport's premier storyteller.
He's a podcast host and editor at The Golfer's Journal, a course designer, and the man behind Sullivan County's revival. He co-hosted a BBC/Paramount documentary series with Bill Murray, and his writing has appeared in Golf Magazine, Sports Illustrated, and The New York Times.
His newest book, A Course Called Home, is the story of bringing Sullivan County Golf Club back to life. He'll read from it after the round.
