What is Westchester County Golf Club?

A golf club for Westchester golfers who play the county courses.

We were jealous of the perks of belonging to a country club, but not the price. Regular games, tournaments, season standings, club records, and people to play with.

So we built a club with the same perks, without the country club price tag. It started in New York City in 2024 as Five Boroughs Golf Club and has grown to more than 900 members. Westchester is our second chapter.

It all runs on a little friendly competition and bragging rights. Not big money. Just enough that you'll want to play more and get better, and the people you play with stop being strangers.

Part of Five Boroughs Golf Club, officially recognized by the United States Golf Association (USGA) and the Metropolitan Golf Association (MGA).

Hear from our members

"This is the most fun I've had golfing since I first got the bug at 11 years old. I didn't think I would ever enjoy competing again."

Sean Copeland

"If you're looking for a simple way to have fun and compete a little then this is the perfect club to join."

The Westchester Cup

The Cup is the core of the club, and it's built around the golf you already play. No set tee times, no league night, no changing your routine or overpaying for a shotgun start event. Once a month, your round counts for something more.

It's also a good push to play all over the county. Dunwoodie regulars, meet Mohansic.

One course a monthApril to August, a different county course each month. You get 30 days to play it.
Play any dayBook your own tee time and play with another member to attest your score. Use the club app or Discord to find a playing partner. We make scheduling rounds easy.
Best 4 of 5 countTraveling or busy one month? No problem.
Stableford scoringA blow up hole is only a zero. On the Net leaderboard your handicap is in play, so a 22 can beat a 4.
Prizes every monthEvery month has its own winner and its own prize.
Finals and beyondThe top of the standings make the Finals in September. The top 12 make the City vs County team in October.

What two chapters gets you

City vs County

Every October, the city takes on the county. A Ryder Cup style team match between the best of Five Boroughs and the best of Westchester.

The top 12 players from the regular season of each Cup make their team. Partner matches and singles, all handicapped, so a 15 who had a great summer earns a spot just like a scratch player.

Twelve of you will be playing for Westchester. Everyone else gets bragging rights or a long winter.

2v2 Match Play

Grab a partner or get paired with one. It's you two against another team, knockout style, on courses across the county.

You'll have 30 days to schedule and play your match. Win and move on. Lose in the first round? You'll enter the consolation bracket and get a second chance at a team prize.

$55 per member. Sign up deadline March 1st, 2027.

Good questions

I'm not very good. Is this for me?

Neither were we when we started this! But we've improved thanks to the club. We intentionally created these tournament formats to allow all skill levels to compete.

I don't know any current members.

Most people don't when they start. Between the Discord and the club app, finding people to play with in Westchester is easy.

Do I need a handicap?

Yes. Everyone competing needs an active USGA GHIN. You can purchase through the club for a discount or keep your own.

Do I have to live in Westchester?

No. You just have to want to play here. Non residents can book every county course. If you live in the county, a Park Pass gets you better rates and earlier booking.

I'm already a Five Boroughs member.

Same club, same app, same Discord. If you play up here more, you can make Westchester your home chapter and play the Westchester Cup.

Why join now if the season starts in April?

Your $95 covers a full year from the day you join, so joining now gets you the whole 2027 season, plus our fall and winter events.

See you on the first tee.
