Golf Is More Fun When
There's Something To Play For.

The Match Play City Circuit is built around the way we think public golf should work: compete, improve, meet people and get rewarded for playing.

01

Compete

Keep score. Play matches. Win holes. Advance through the bracket. Every round means something.

02

Improve

Play better golfers. Test your game. Learn the courses. Seven rounds gives you seven chances to get better.

03

Community

You'll meet your opponents, your teammate and a whole lot of NYC golfers along the way.

04

Perks

Win cash, earn bragging rights, play the finals and take home a trophy.

Make Your
Golf Matter.

Public golf can feel like a series of disconnected tee times. This gives your season a storyline.

You have a teammate. You have an opponent. You have a course. You have a month to get the match done.

Win and you move on. Lose and you're done.

01

Play More

Seven rounds gives you a reason to get out there.

02

Get Better

Match play exposes every part of your game.

03

Know Your Courses

Compete across NYC's public golf landscape.

04

Have Something To Play For

Trophy. Cash. Bragging rights. Pick your motivation.

NET BEST BALL
MATCH PLAY

Each player plays their own ball on every hole. Strokes are awarded based on the difference between each player's handicaps.

The tournament uses 90% of your course handicap. Higher handicap players receive strokes on the hardest holes.

The best net score from each team counts on every hole. The team that wins the most holes wins the match.

Tied after 18? You go to sudden death.

Example: Strokes

Player A handicap 14
Player B handicap 10
Difference 4 strokes
90% allowance ~4 strokes
Applied to 4 hardest holes

THE GOLF COMES FIRST.

Then You Meet People

Your opponent is a stranger when the match starts. Maybe they're not by the time it's over.

That's the point of FBGC: play golf first, make friends through it.

And You Get Rewarded

Make it to the finals, win cash, take home the trophy and earn the right to talk about it for the rest of the year.

There should be something in it for playing.
